Pain is a symptom, but where the pain is located isn't always correlated with where the source of that pain is coming from. The pain can settle in a location, and that is what you're feeling; the source of that pain could be from an injury or damaged tissue at another location. When addressing a pain location, we need to think upstream and downstream of that location to figure out if there might be an underlying issue that is causing it. While it may not seem like it could come from a different location, referred pain can be a significant contributor to dull and achy pain.
Things It Helps:
-Looking beyond the pain
-Finding tissues that need to be addressed
-Greater pain relief
